Garden City Productions began back in 1956 when the Operatic Society of Grantham United Church first performed The Pirates of Penzance in a church basement. Since then the company has mounted over 80 shows and is the only surviving theatre company in St. Catharines from that time.
Looking back, we are proud to have accomplished what we have. In 1964, we officially became GCP, operating from "any hall available." In 1974, we bought our present home, affectionately known as "The Barn" at 50 Herrick Avenue in St. Catharines, and paid off the mortgage by 1981. Through the years, we have grown, both artistically and technically, and boast dozens of professional alumni in the field of their choice.
We are all volunteers, doing what we love to do, and learning from some of the best professionals in the industry. We're always on the lookout for new talent, both on and off stage -- so either call us at 905-682-1353 or send us an e-mail and join our membership!
