Letter from the President

PRESIDENT'S REPORT

June 30th marks the end of another fiscal year for Garden City Productions and we look forward to starting another season, beginning with our Annual General Meeting in September. The date this year is September 18th – 2.00pm at the Barn. The Board of Directors looks forward to seeing many of you in attendance, this meeting represents the work the Board has accomplished and you will hear their individual reports on the work they provide for Garden City Productions. It is also a chance for you to express your views, ideas, suggestions and any topic you feel is worthy to benefit our Company that we may continue as a viable organization. We will also listen to grumbles too and will certainly take all topics under consideration for the betterment of Garden City Productions. There are three positions coming available on the Board, each for a three year term. The Board welcomes interested applicants that would like to put their names forward for election and wish to work for Garden City Productions in the business capacity of the Company. In order to be eligible to run for election, it is required that you are a paid up member as of June 30th, 2010 and have been a member in good standing from June 30th 2009 – the memberships must have been paid each year by these two dates in order to have the one complete year necessary. The Board is pleased to announce that Mavis Rodgers has kindly accepted the position of Nominating Chairperson and we ask that you send your name and bio to her allowing your name to stand for election. The bios will be submitted for inclusion in the August Grapevine, along with the proxy votes for those that have voting privileges. We will be producing a hard copy of the Grapevine for all members for the August edition, which will also include the membership password change. The Board looks forward to hearing from members that would like to become part of the business end of the Company, it does require work, commitment and dedication but certainly has it’s rewards.

Just a reminder on the Newsletter, remember it is on the member’s only section of the GCP Website and will be posted the first week of every month. Please do not forget to go into the site, it is there for you on a monthly basis.

Many thanks must go to John Koerner and his helpers, Kari Syri and Rob Audette who have recently given our Barn a much needed coat of paint on the outside – John maintains our Barn so well, of course he is very proud of our home and certainly keeps it in immaculate shape.

There is much excitement for our Fall Production “A Chorus Line” Diane Hom and Sandi Syri, our Producers, are once again working hard and everything is falling into place nicely. Auditions are the week-end of August 13th to the 15th and all info is on the GCP Website. Much success to all who audition. The Board wishes our Producers all the very best as they embark on another great Show for GCP.

Until next time
